“I want you to be honest with me at all times.”
She chuckled and looked down at her lap. “Of course … I just … this whole situation feels weird to me. Don’t get me wrong; I don’t regret coming here. I just feel…,” she looked at me and laughed. “I don’t even know what I feel.”
She was thinking too much.
Pushing my seat back, I stood up. She watched me with wide eyes as I walked to her. I knew she was nervous and there was only one way I could think of to make her relax.
I held out my hand to her. “Come with me.”
She eyed me warily and slowly reached her hand out to meet mine.
I placed a finger on her lips before she could finish her sentence and then walked her into the living room. I stopped in front of the wall of windows and stood behind her.
“I want you to stand right here and look out at this view.” I moved the hair away from her neck and pressed my chest to her back. “What do you feel?” I whispered into her neck. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply before slowly letting it out. I wrapped my arms around her waist and she relaxed her body into mine. I could feel the racing beat of her heart. “What do you feel, Emma?” I asked her again, as I ran my lips over her earlobe. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. She kept her eyes closed…and felt.
