Q and Tess! I loved been back in their world. I was so excited when I found out that we would be getting more of their story and have been counting down the days since.

Married life seems to be suiting the couple very well and they have settled into a happy existence until Q starts to question his life and maybe wanting something else from Tess. I was wondering what else she could possibly give. She already has Q captured heart and soul. But when Q reveals what he wants I think I did a little happy dance. I was so happy for them.

Je Suis a Toi is Pepper at her best. I loved everything about this story and her writing never ceases to amaze me. A must read for lovers of this series.

The Others #4

Synopsis

For centuries, the Others and humans have lived side by side in uneasy peace. But when humankind oversteps its bounds, the Others will have to decide how much humanity they’re willing to tolerate—both within themselves and within their community…

Since the Others allied themselves with the cassandra sangue, the fragile yet powerful human blood prophets who were being exploited by their own kind, the delicate dynamic between humans and Others changed. Some, like Simon Wolfgard, wolf shifter and leader of the Lakeside Courtyard, and blood prophet Meg Corbyn, see the new, closer companionship as beneficial—both personally and practically.

But not everyone is convinced. A group of radical humans is seeking to usurp land through a series of violent attacks on the Others. What they don’t realize is that there are older and more dangerous forces than shifters and vampires protecting the land that belongs to the Others—and those forces are willing to do whatever is necessary to protect what is theirs…

Review

After the ending of the last book I couldn’t wait to get my paws on Marked In Flesh. The wait between books is just too long, but it was oh so worth it in the end. As soon as I started this book I was sucked back into the world of The Others and the human pack like no time had passed between the release of Vision In Silver and Marked In Flesh.

Anne Bishop really has a way with words and this story in no different. There is just something so captivating about the characters she creates and the world that she builds around them. As a reader, I feel as if I’m really there with the characters going through everything that they are going through at the same time.

Marked in Flesh starts out a little differently to the rest of the books in the series so far. There are a lot of POVs to consider and while it may be a little confusing as to who is say what and when, but it all makes sense the more you read. I loved reading about how different characters were reacting to the events around them. It really opened my eyes the world that Ms Bishop has created for The Others.

“We will give you some time to decide how much human the terra indigene will keep”

This books also focuses more heavily on The Others and Humans First and Last movement. The struggle between the two has hit an ultimate peak and the consequence from the actions of the HFL were felt by both sides when the Elders decided to take matters into their own hands.

After the way the last book ended I was really excited to see where Meg and Simon’s relationship would go. However with everything else that was going on, I felt that they had very little on page time together. I really wanted to see more of them. Just when I thought something major was going to happen and it didn’t, I think my heart gave out. You can do this to me. It is so unfair. I’m living for the next book. Please hurry I must find out what happens next.

PS. For some strange reason when I finished reading Marked in Flesh the first thing that came to mind was the song ‘Colours of the Wind’ from Disney’s Pocahontas. As strange as it may seem, there are lyrics in there that relate very well to this story.

Review

I don’t know why but this book really drew me in. I mean as soon as I read the synopsis I wanted to know more. Then I read the prologue and I needed to read more. I needed to know how Blake got to where he was in life, hows his story started and why he was asking the reader not to hate him for what he had done. Intrigued? I know I was. Just those few pages alone left we wanting more and more is what I got.

Funnily enough, I didn’t end up hating Blake for what he did and what he put those closest to him through. But his wife; now that is a whole other story. Right from the start there she just something about her and the more the story went on the more annoying she got. She became so self-centered and everything had to be about her. I was so glad when Blake finally realized this too.

Blake and Zach may have meet in an usually way but they are just perfect together. They support each other through everything and share some pretty hot scenes together too. I can’t wait to read the next books in the series.

After finishing Quintessentially Q, I didn’t things could get any worse. But I was wrong; so wrong. Again Q and Tess’s relationship is pushed to the limits. How these two make their relationship survive after everything is beyond me. But I guess that is the magic of these books.

Q and Tess finally got the happy ever after that I have been waiting for. Their wedding was just perfect and totally them.

I was a bit unsure starting Twisted Together since it is twice as long as the other books in the series, but it was so worth it. I loved everything about this book.

Review

I can’t believe that this is the last book in the series. I so want more. But what a way to end it. I think I was was on the edge of my seat most of the time just waiting for something bad to happen. You can just sense that the worst is going to happen. And then when it did happen and I started the next chapter, I was like ‘nooooooo’. I think I cried a little. I’m too emotionally invested in this series I think. In a good way that is.

Lindsay’s relationship with Slade, Romeo and Hawthorne takes a very real turn in this book. It was very interesting to read. Everybody has really grown on me and I think Hawthorne may just be way favourite. He may have been a bit of a dick at the start of the series, but he really does put 110% in when he wants to.

Loved the ending; it was really well done by the author.

Review

I must say that I have never really fallen in love with the MC romance genre. All the books that I have previously read; except for one author, just didn’t quite catch my interest. So when I saw that Pepper Winters was writing an MC romance, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read it or not.

However the thought of not reading one of Peppers books after all the previous ones I have read and loved was enough to tempt me to read one more MC novel.

And OMG!!! I’m so glad that I did. The FEELS, the angst; it was just pure Pepper magic. Arthur ‘Kill’ Killan was the prefect MC president. So dark and mysterious, yet something softer was always just below the surface.

I shall never again underestimate the power that this woman. Just by arranging the letters of the alphabet onto the right words, she is able to create something truly magical. I never rated Pepper less than 5 stars and I guess I won’t be starting anytime soon.

Synopsis:

*Warning – although this novella is entirely consensual, it contains sexual practices some readers may find offensive. It is a step-romance containing punishment and discipline, double penetration, group sex and some arguably seedy roleplay. All characters are responsible adults, but please read at your own risk. Most certainly 18+*

“You’ve been a very, very, naughty girl, Georgia Catherine Tate.”

Spoiled little rich girl, Georgia, has it all. Showered in gifts by a jet setter mother who’s never home, her pretty little ass has received far too much kissing, and far too little spanking.

But that’s all about to change…

Andrew Priestley may be saintly by name, but certainly not by nature. When marrying Cynthia Tate to a backdrop of sun, sea and sangria after a holiday romance, he wasn’t aware that living with her petulant 20 year old daughter would drive him quite so close to insanity.

He’ll teach Georgia some manners, and he’ll teach her good.

Spare the rod and spoil the child, that’s what Andrew Priestley believes. And after all… Daddy knows best.

Review:

This is one hot and very sexy read. And did a mention taboo? Some taboo stories can be a bit boring or read like a porno script, but this was nothing like that. I loved every second of it. I couldn’t read it fast enough.

This story is like mega hot and has some very hot and naughty sex scenes. All the more reason to read it and find out what everyone else is talking about.

I can’t really say to much without giving the story away, but step daughter loves step daddy and he find outs her secret and things happen. Lots of things happen.

Daddy knows best is not for everyone and I get that. But sometimes reading something different can really open are eyes to what else is out there.

I can’t wait to read more from this author and will be waiting for future releases from now on.

Review:

It was so great to be back with Simon, Meg and the rest of the gang in the others series. I have missed them so much. However now I have to wait another year for the next chapter in their story. So not fair, but I will wait. How could I not? Everything about this series is so captivating. This is urban fantasy at it’s best.

The first half of the book focuses on giving the reader lots of information about everything that has already happened and happening with the Human First and Last movement. Some new charters are introduced, both good and bad and some that I’m still unsure about and would like to know more about.

While there didn’t seem to be a ‘big’ action event towards the end of the book, there was still some pretty major things to happen. I couldn’t believe when I was reading it that the terra indigene would like to go that far with the humans, but they do take threats very seriously. It was just a bit of a shock really.

The relationship between Simon and Meg. This is a whole other thing. It’s there but at the same time it’s not. There is just something about this couple that is so intriguing. Can’t wait to see were they are heading.

And the ending is just beautiful.

Since the series was originally 3 books, I can see how this book could be more of an information filler in the series, but I wouldn’t be skipping over it because I may have just miss something that is important in the next books. No author does world building quite like Anne Bishop. I love it so much. Can’t wait for the next one in the series now.

Review:

Pepper Winters has done it again. Second Debt totally destroyed me and everything that I believe Jethro was. In this book we finally get to see a bit more of the ‘real’ Jethro and how he came to be. Yet it is only a little bit, Pepper won’t give you everything at once. And for that I want to hate her. But how can you hate an author who keeps giving you five star reads? I just can.

This only be the second debt of five, but by god I don’t think my heart could take anymore. It was pure torture just reading what the characters were going through, let alone having to actually do the debt.

Second Debt was more of an emotional look at the Jethro and Nila and how they were developing their relationship despite everything. I don’t know how they get up each day. knowing it may be there last. I just couldn’t do it.

Another cliff hanger ending. I knew it was coming but still the way it happens is always shocking. I want to throw my kindle out the window. But then I think how will I read the next one? So I keep it by me and pray that the next one in the series comes soon enough. I need more right now.

Oh man! What can I say that will do this book justice. I just don’t have the words. Everything about this book is spot on. Nothing was out of place and I loved everything about it.

Alexandra, the naughty king, is one determined guy who goes after everything that he wants. Failure doesn’t seem to be an option for him.

However Margo, the feisty princess, is exactly the same. Nothing stands in her way and she is determined to stand up to Alexandra and not be the ‘doormats’ that he is use to dealing with.

When these two clash, man was there fireworks going off everywhere. I loved reading all of their exchanges. It was just so entertaining.

Plot, story line and secondary characters were also great. Can’t wait to see more from everyone and is waiting to find out were everything will go from here.

Oh and that ending. It’s going to kill me til I can get my hands on the next installment.
