2019 Reading Challenge Rundown

I even stopped blogging thinking it would help with more reading time, but it didn’t really. So I’m signing up to some reading challenges again this year with the aim to read more.

2018 Reading Challenge Rundown

After hitting a major reading slump in 2017, I’m hoping that completing some reading challenges will help be get my reading mojo back on track. When reading for challenges to do this year, I found so many good ones and I wanted to do them all. But alas it’s not possible, unless I read all day every day. Now this sounds like a good plan.

There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them. – Ray Bradbury

Hello wonderful readers. I can’t believe I haven’t written a blog post in so long. Truthfully I’ve been in such a massive reading slump for about the past 8 months and it’s been killing me. I’ve started so many books in the hopes of getting myself out of it but nothing seemed to be working. I tried new authors, short stories, long stories and even tried to reread my favourites, but nothing stuck. I feel so bad! So many new and exciting books have been released in that time, I even brought some, but they are still sitting either on the bookshelf or on the kindle waiting to be read and loved.

I haven’t even been blogging either. With the reading slump, I didn’t feel like doing that. I wanted to but just couldn’t get into it either.

So I decided to just take a break from both books and blogging. Not to panic, my time away was not wasted. I’ve still been bookstagramming (since I don’t have to read the actual books for that) and I’ve caught up on so many movies and TV shows that I was putting off because I was too busy reading. And now I feel better for it.

I went to a book signing in September and that was the first time that I felt excited and had the urge to read again. It’s been a slow process coming back, but I will get there.
