Synopsis:

When Clary Fray heads out to a New York nightclub with her best friend Simon, she isn’t expecting to witness a murder, much less one committed by three teenagers bedecked with odd tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. And she’s more than a little startled when the body disappears into thin air. Soon Clary is introduced to the world of the Shadowhunters, a secret army of warriors dedicated to driving demons out of our world and back to their own. And she’s introduced with a vengeance, when Clary’s mother disappears and Clary herself is almost killed by a grotesque monster. How could a mere human survive such an attack and kill a demon?

It was interesting reading about the background for the movie and how it all came to be. Well worth the read before seeing the movie.

Review:

I enjoyed this book more the second time around. I originally read it when it was first released and didn’t really fall that much in love with it. But I felt more of a connection the second time around.
The story is very dark, but not depressingly moody. All of the characters have a personality of their own, and I loved all of them. Well nearly all of them.
It was strange reading about the world as we know it, but different somehow. For those that love urban fantasy this is a must.

Review:

Don’t know if I can really call this reading a book, since it was more about the images from the movie than any thing else.
However, it is still a useful information source for those that have read the book or would like to see the movie.
There is not a lot of detail to this book, but what there is get straight to the point.
A must have book for those that love everything about The Mortal Instruments.
