Sometimes your first love doesn’t equal your true love.Jason Sladerman is Charlie’s one. For him, she would adjust to a new city, deal with sudden fame and fandom, and change her life. But never did she think she’d have to tolerate sudden obsession.

Yet that is what Reagan Wescott feels for Charlie’s man. She infiltrated Charlie’s life, made her believe in their friendship, but only to get closer to Slade. Charlie knows, and is finally starting to trust her instincts, that Reagan is manic over him, stalking him, sick over him.

Until the email.

Now Charlie doesn’t know who’s true and who’s false, who loves her and who hates her. Her one true friend, Lara, is too preoccupied with her own love life to notice Charlie’s faltering. Slade’s too involved in proving his innocence to notice the danger. Reagan doesn’t care about anyone but Slade and will do anything to get to him. And Nate wants Charlie so much he turns a blind eye to everything but her.

Their misguided dreams are their greatest mistake. Murder’s on the horizon, and while everyone holds on tight to their sacred wishes, someone uses that chance to sneak by.

And kill.

In Ketley Allison’s fourth installment of the Snapped Novella Series, the question is no longer who will snap, but who did.

This story had me so twisted around I didn’t know which way to look.

Oh Slade! I don’t know what to think about him. There is just something about him that is really getting on my nerves. I mean he puts on a good face when he has to, but the keep getting this feeling that there is something dark lurking in his soul. He believes what he wants to make himself look and feel good no matter the cost to others. I’m slowly starting to hate him a little. His just… blah I don’t know, but it’s not a good feeling.

I’m somewhat sorry for Charlie that no one believes what see can see so clearly. She is defending herself so hard but I just falling on deaf ears. And the bullshit everyone keeps feeding her; can’t they see what they are doing to her. Well maybe not Nate. Still unsure about him. Maybe he is not as bad as I first thought. Will have to wait and see.

Then the party to top all parties. What happens at the party should stay at the party, but is never how the saying really goes. Someone is bound to find out and then everyone will know. Secrets are bound to be discovered in the future.

This series is getting better and better with each book that I read. Can’t wait to read more.

Charlie’s first love is perfect. He’s kindhearted, the sex is great, and he only wants her despite the spotlight that brings him fame. Her life is wonderful, filled with purpose and cushioned by the man of her dreams.Something is wrong here.

Her instincts are kicking in, telling her that Slade isn’t the man she thinks he is, but her heart is at war. She loves him, despite the attraction that sparks between her and Nate, the lonely, magnetic man who has popped into her life solely to piss her off. Slade loves her, despite the bright cameras and hot women and the ongoing pressure to succeed.

Doesn’t he love her?

Slade’s getting closer to Charlie’s new friend, a girl who blushes in his presence and changes face as soon as he leaves. Reagan seems sweet and everyone tells Charlie she’s adorable, cute…innocent as an angel. But Charlie’s starting to see her differently. Problem is, no one believes her.

Simple jealousy, or a warning of what’s to come?

Someone’s plotting a murder, and its execution hinges on Charlie’s choice. If she turns the wrong way, ignores the right signals, and chooses the wrong man, well…

The ultimate sin will result.

Now we are getting somewhere with the story. The story line in Sin moved along faster than the previous book in the series. And I’m loving it so much more now.

These characters are so interesting and complex. Just when I think that I have them all figured out and know who’s side they are on and what they have been doing, the author throws another curve ball in and I’m back to square one again. I just can’t figure out how some of them are turning into complete opposite of themselves.

And don’t get me started on some of the revelations. There are some pretty big ones in this story. The secrets and lies that they are all telling each other and themselves. I just want to shake them all out of them silly selves.

But that ending! Did not see that coming at all. Give me more!

Famous boyfriend, penthouse on Park Avenue, full scholarship and best friend along for the ride? Awesome.

A smartass drummer boy, dark obsession and a hint of betrayal Unexpected.

So shade starts where snapped finishes off, which means no time overlap or missing key time points in the story.

Truthful I still I little unsure about this series. The story is gripping enough to keep reading but nothing major is really standing out. The story at this point is moving along nicely, if however I little slow for my liking.

The characters are interesting enough and are starting to show their true colours. Some of them were a bit of a surprise at what they say and do and others not so surprising.

All said and done I will be reading the next book because the need to know what happens next is just to great to give up now.

“We have someone who saw you struggling with the deceased before using that knife. Your best friend, and our eye witness.”

In nine weeks Charlie Miller’s life goes from high-rolling perfection to a crypt of sin. All it takes is one night, one blade, and her boyfriend, best friend and new friends all either end up as suspects or dead.

Nate Westcott, a pierced, tattooed, charismatic lawyer, is a man she can’t have—but a seductive danger she can’t ignore. He’s cocky, infuriating, brilliant and wrong, yet he makes her question whether she really is the good girl she wants to be or more like the selfish killer everyone thinks she is.

And her body wants him in ways she’s not supposed to crave.

As the weeks close in, cracks start forming in her everyday world of pro football golden boys, law school domination and New York City nightlife. Everyone she cares about is at risk because one of them doesn’t love Charlie back. In fact, they want her out of the way. Disposed of. Set up.

One more step, and all Charlie has to do is fall through.

Week 1 starts now.

Snapped is Ketley’s New Adult Contemporary series with all the romance you’d expect, but the killer—and lovers—that you don’t.

I love it when a book starts with a glimpse of the end of the story. If it’s done right, I’m hooked on a series straight away and Snapped was no different. The first chapter is about an event that happens in the future and it is very intense and I was instantly drawn into the story.

However after that first chapter, the story started to fall away for me. I sort of lost interest in it and didn’t care where it was going. But I keep reading hoping it would pick up again.

There is a lot to take in; plenty of characters get introduced, relationship established and surroundings explained. Yet in all this there is still a mystery to each character, that I can see getting explained as the story develops over the duration of the story.

Towards the end of the story and mystery element becomes clear and some characters were at one I thought they first appeared to be. Will be reading the next one to discover more of this story.

Getting pleasure from pain makes me a sadist. I’ve been that way for as long as I can remember. Plagued by painful memories and a dark past, I use women to help me forget. I’ve done everything in my power to take control of my life, but there are some things I have no control over.

People think they know who I am, but in reality, they know nothing.

My name is Mason Cline.

But after today, you will call me Professor Cline.

Ages 18+ due to sexual content, language, and difficult situations.

Series Reading Order:

#1 Professor Cline: Revealed
#2 Professor Cline: Redeemed

I really don’t know what to say. I’m not really into the whole student/teacher romance thing. It just really isn’t for me. Yet I’ve been following news on Professor Cline for a while now. So something clearly caught my interest and I’m glad it did. Maybe it was the dark romance part. How is it possible for a student/teacher romance to be dark? Besides the taboo subject and it just shouldn’t be done, how does one go about making it dark?

Alas, yet here it has been done with Professor Cline. I fell in love with everything about this story from the very beginning. The plot, characters, story line and the dual points of view were just perfect. Everything flowed and I couldn’t put it down until. I just had to read it in one sitting.

The Professor and Emma, the soon to be student, meet before they discover their new relationship. He is instantly draw to her and is determined to have her no what what. Even when he discovered she is to be his student, he still wants. There is just something about her that is drawing the darkness from him and giving him hope.

It wasn’t til the end of the story that the darkness started to really show and other character’s personalities started to show through. Some people really can be two-faced. Yet this just added to the story as a whole.

You know how you always expect something major to happen at the end, the story is just building up to it. Well it was happening and that from left of field something different totally happened. I love surprises, but now I’m left wanting and waiting more. Will be looking forward to reading more about the Professor in the future.

Out in Time by Grey Cole
5 Stars

I just couldn’t put this book down. It was so addictive. Heath and Wade were just so adorable together. They couldn’t be more opposite in some of the things that they enjoyed in their personal lives, yet somehow they just fitted perfectly together. I was voting for them all the way.

The story flows perfectly. There is no unnecessary fluff added to make to story longer and drawn out. It got straight down to business. Everything I read fitted perfectly into the story. I’m missing it already.

I’m happy that the author wasn’t afraid to touch on the subject to homosexuality in major league sport. This is still something that we struggle with to this day.

The only disappointment was that the story finished. I really want to see more of these two characters and see how their future turns out.

{Review} Mister Black (In The Shadows #1)

Fashionable suit

Title: Mister Black
Series: In the Shadows #1
Author: P.T. Michelle
Release Date: June 14, 2014

We all have someone who crossed our path and fundamentally changed us. That one person who blew through our lives, their presence forever stamped on our psyche. They linger in our thoughts, in our hearts, and in the decisions we make. A soul crusher or a dream maker, depending on the perspective.

My person is MISTER BLACK. I didn’t know him by that name when I first met him. I didn’t know him at all, but the impression he left behind was just as powerful as the name I call him today.

He is Black: a deadly enforcer and masterful seducer.

I am Red: a justice bleeder and willing participant.

Together we are passion. Colors colliding through each other’s lives. When our secrets converge in a passionate encounter, stepping out of the shadows just might be worth the risk.

This may be only a short read but it still packs a punch. I loved the back story at the start when the main characters where still young and the world hadn’t effected them yet. They seemed so innocent. However later on in the present we learn that they were both dealing with major issues, that even adults struggle with. I love a good back story that has some real depth in it.

Mister Black is focused in the present time with Talia trying to discover why one of the daughters of a wealthy family (The Blacks) just randomly up and left college. Little does she realize that this will led her straight into the arms of the mystery guy from her past. When they met again, the fireworks are still there. Now there is nothing holding them back from what they really want. They plan to met the next day, yet life happens and the reader is left wondering if they will ever met again.

Sebastian Quinn is one hot guy. His mystery and shadow soul make him that much more attractive. I will never look at rainbows the same way now.

I liked both of the main characters and the story line was set up nicely. However it feel just a little short in some places. Maybe the next book will help fill in those gaps.

{Review} The Perfect Boyfriend (Boyfriend #2)

The Perfect Boyfriend (Boyfriend #2)The Perfect Boyfriend by R.S. Novelle

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The prefect boyfriend starts exactly where the boyfriend list left off. No need to worry about if something happened in between that we, the reader are left wondering about later on in the book.

While the start of the book was a little bit sweet for me, it did make sense. Every relationship goes through the ‘honeymoon’ period. The place where everything is perfect and nothing else matter. However then life happens.

It was good to see how the characters handled themselves and the situations they were thrown in it. It felt very real, like I was watching a friend go through the same this. Not just reading about it.

Now I just want to know what will happen next. I really love this series and hopefully the next book will be just as good.

Rich parents leave their daughter to look after the house for a month and have asked the next door neighbour to help out with a few things. This doesn’t sit well with Melissa, so she will show him something. Little does she realize that the geek she knew is now hot. Surprise, surprise. So did not see that coming

“Beach bum? Melissa thought. Hardly. The way his shirt hugged his rippling fame made him look more like some bronzed Adonis from Greek legend. Not that she was going to let him know that, of course. He was still the enemy after all”

Of course the fighting starts and one thing leads to the next til they are both naked in each others arms.

I would have liked for this to be longer. If a want to know more I have to get the next book. Don’t know about that. But it was good for a quick hot read.

Series Reading Order:

#1 Gabriel’s Inferno
#2 Gabriel’s Rapture
#3 Gabriel’s Redemption

I just loved this story. Gabriel and Julia were a shining example of a real life couple. They were so easy to relate to. Every emotion was so beautiful written. I had to keep reading just to find out what would happen next.

For a change, I’m glad that the author didn’t jump straight to the sex scenes and potentially destroy everything. The build up is something really to be enjoyed. The main character’s story is really something not to be missed. It helps the read feel more connected to them. I know I did.

It is clear that the author’s passion really shows through the writing. The background research is so complete, that I have learnt so much about it just by reading this story.
