{Meme} Top Ten Books That Were Hard For Me To Read

This week top 10 Tuesday is a very interesting topic indeed. It can be taken in so many different way. Therefore I am going to list 10 books and the reason of each one. They maybe different, but they were still all ‘hard’ for me one way or another.

1) Fifty Shades Darker by EL James
This took me like forever to finish. It just didn’t keep me interested enough to keep reading it. I always found something else instead.

2) Deviant by Callie Hart
This was the very first dark romance book that I read. It was totally left of field for me, yet strangely enough this genre has grown on me. I have read a few dark romances now. But this one will always be my eye opener to me.

3) Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire
This may be a strange choice for some people, but when I saw this I was scared to read it. I loved Beautiful Disaster and was worried that it would be ruined by Travis’s side of the story. Boy I couldn’t be wrong. This turned out to be a five star read for me and added to much more depth to the first book. Combined they are epic goodness.

4) Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren
Where to start. This is a fan-fiction released in stages on the internet by two author friends. That alone made to unsure if I should read it, plus some of the reviews were terrible. So I read it, in one sitting. Man it was soooooooo good. So ya, I loved it and have read and own the whole series to date.

5) The Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop
This may come as a surprise because I absolutely love this series. However the first time I read it I was so confused and found it hard to follow in some parts. Yet now I try not to pick them up because I know that nothing else in the real world will matter til I have finished them. Who cares if I’ve already read them a dozen times, I don’t!

6) Of Mice and Men by
I know it’s a classic, but still. Nope I just couldn’t get into it.

7) L4yer Cake by J. J. Connolly
At the time of reading this it was totally left of field for me. I don’t read many crime novels, so it was a bit of a shock. It still don’t know why I read, maybe cause there was movie based on the book. That is the only reason I can think of. But I couldn’t get over the swearing. Every second word seemed to be ‘fuck’. It doesn’t bother me now, but before it did.

8) Casino Royale by Ian Fleming
No James Bond is not a hard book to read, in fact it was pretty easy really. It were was the mind set in getting in the mood to start reading these book. I love the movies so much, that I was afraid that the book would ruin it for me. And has it? Nope not at all. Well at least for a first one anyways.

{Review} Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades #2)

Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades, #2)Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

797 days later and I have finally finished this book.

I have been tempted so, so, so many times to put it in the did not finish pile, but I just couldn’t. I really don’t like not finishing books.

There is just too much sex in this story. I never thought I would say that, but there I have. I just felt like it over powered everything. The best parts were the email exchanges between Ana and Christian, and the mystery in the plot. That’s about it. They were the only things that made me keep reading til the end.

And I’m prepared to read the next one, just so I can say I have read them all.

{Meme} Top Ten Books I’m Not Sure I Want To Read

TO READ OR NOT TO READ?

1. The fault in our stars
the fault in our stars cover
Do I believe all the hype and read it anyway or should I just give it more time. I’ve had it in the bookshelf for a while now. While my two sisters have read it and loved it, I still bring myself around to reading it.

2. The 100
I watched 20 minutes of the TV show and just couldn’t watch anymore. Now I’m not sure if I want to read the book.

3.  A game of thrones series.
I’ve never started but it looks so long. Plus I’ve still only watched the first season of the TV show. I just can’t commit to either at the moment.

4. Scorpia Rising
I have had this on my current reading list for a while. It’s not that I have the series or the author. Total opposite. I just know that when I finish it, the story will be over and I’ll have to close another part of my teenage years.

5. Books 4, 5 & 6 of The Mortal Instruments
I liked the original 3 books in the series. And that was all it was ever going to be. But then there was more. Do I read more or not? I’m still undecided on that

6. Matched, Crossed & Reached
allycondie
Another series I have all the book to, but not sure if I want to read them now

7. Twisted by Emma Chase
I really loved Tangled, first book in the series and am scared that the rest of the books will just fall flat for me.

8. The Vampire Academy
There is only so many YA vampire books I person can read in their life time. I may have reached that limit. Well for now anyways

9. Fifty Shades Darker
I read the first one because of the hype. I admit I got sucked it and now blah… I just can’t seem to finish the series. I always find something else to read instead. It just can’t hold me.

10. Rusty Nailed
Another read the first book, loved it, but do I continue with the rest of the series? I want to know what happens, but do I really want to know that badly. Clearly not, or else it wouldn’t be on this list.
