{Meme} Top Ten Books That Were Hard For Me To Read

This week top 10 Tuesday is a very interesting topic indeed. It can be taken in so many different way. Therefore I am going to list 10 books and the reason of each one. They maybe different, but they were still all ‘hard’ for me one way or another.

1) Fifty Shades Darker by EL James
This took me like forever to finish. It just didn’t keep me interested enough to keep reading it. I always found something else instead.

2) Deviant by Callie Hart
This was the very first dark romance book that I read. It was totally left of field for me, yet strangely enough this genre has grown on me. I have read a few dark romances now. But this one will always be my eye opener to me.

3) Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire
This may be a strange choice for some people, but when I saw this I was scared to read it. I loved Beautiful Disaster and was worried that it would be ruined by Travis’s side of the story. Boy I couldn’t be wrong. This turned out to be a five star read for me and added to much more depth to the first book. Combined they are epic goodness.

4) Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren
Where to start. This is a fan-fiction released in stages on the internet by two author friends. That alone made to unsure if I should read it, plus some of the reviews were terrible. So I read it, in one sitting. Man it was soooooooo good. So ya, I loved it and have read and own the whole series to date.

5) The Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop
This may come as a surprise because I absolutely love this series. However the first time I read it I was so confused and found it hard to follow in some parts. Yet now I try not to pick them up because I know that nothing else in the real world will matter til I have finished them. Who cares if I’ve already read them a dozen times, I don’t!

6) Of Mice and Men by
I know it’s a classic, but still. Nope I just couldn’t get into it.

7) L4yer Cake by J. J. Connolly
At the time of reading this it was totally left of field for me. I don’t read many crime novels, so it was a bit of a shock. It still don’t know why I read, maybe cause there was movie based on the book. That is the only reason I can think of. But I couldn’t get over the swearing. Every second word seemed to be ‘fuck’. It doesn’t bother me now, but before it did.

8) Casino Royale by Ian Fleming
No James Bond is not a hard book to read, in fact it was pretty easy really. It were was the mind set in getting in the mood to start reading these book. I love the movies so much, that I was afraid that the book would ruin it for me. And has it? Nope not at all. Well at least for a first one anyways.

{Meme} Top Ten Books I’d Give To Readers Who Have Never Read New Adult

The new adult category is something that I went into half minded since it is different for everyone that reads it.

is-it-new-adult

However the general category description is about characters in the age range of 18-25, leaving home for the first time, going to college, discovering things about themselves living in the real world, taking a chance with a first love. If I have forgotten anything I’m sorry but that is just my overview of the category (nothing official here)

{Cover Reveal} Beautiful Oblivion

 beautiful oblivion cover

The Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series.

Fiercely independent Camille “Cami” Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.

As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.

In the first installment of the Maddox Brothers books, readers can experience the rush they felt reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again.

#2.5 A Beautiful Wedding

Review

A Beautiful Wedding is a must read for fans of the series. I couldn’t wait to read it and just had to read it in one sitting.

A beautiful wedding develops the story of how Abby and Travis became Mr and Mrs Maddox. Of course nothing is ever as easy as it seems when it comes to this couple. But that is why they are so lovable. There life was never easy, so why should one of the biggest days of their life be any different.

This could be read while still reading Walking Disaster, if you wanted to match the timelines up more, but is not necessary.

Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

#2 Walking Disaster

Review:

Walking Disaster was really refreshing. It was so exciting to be back with Abby and Travis, only this time to see it through Travis’s eyes. So many things seemed to make more sense now. Small gaps were filled in and more questions were presented, along with answers.
The story is just as intense as the first novel and never falls short of amazing. Travis is an intense and exciting character. It was good that he got a book of his own. I felt every emotion that he had and relived his heartache.
It was nice to see a mans point of view on love and relationships.

Review:

Intense? Yes Dangerous? Yes Addictive? Hell Yes!!!

Once this book was in my hands I just couldn’t put it down. Abby and Travis’s story is so intense and so real, I felt like they were real people living in the real world with me. I was so sucked in, that nothing else mattered til I had finished read the book.
However once I finished reading, it felt sad to leave their world behind.
