Synopsis:

Why so surprised? I control a billion dollar fortune. I control the news. Give me five minutes and I’ll control you, too. If you could read my mind, you’d probably call me perverted. Unnatural. Manipulative. But I’ve learned to blend in, to be funny and charming. A predator in a designer suit.

I have no conscience. No shame in taking the things I want. And what I wanted was for Leontine Reeves to sell me her boutique tech firm so I could exploit the f**k out of it. Maybe exploit the f**k out of her, too, because desire haunts me in shades of scarlet, and I desire Leo most of all.

I never meant for this to be a love story. I fought it kicking and screaming, the same way Leo fought me. Now we’re bleeding into each other, making a mess. A chaos. There’s no control here. And what do monsters like me do when control leaves the building?

Review:

Where to start? This book is not at all what I thought it would be. I was expecting something a little different and for that reason I am left wanting more. It wasn’t as dark as some other books that I have read, but in saying that it is still no ‘hearts-and-flowers’ love story either. Yes there is a love story in this dark twisted world.

I felt that the story was a bit slow, yet for some reason I keep waiting to read to find out what would happen next. I really can’t explain it. The story was still gripping enough to keep reading despite the pace the story was going for me. Maybe because it was in the male POV and I don’t get to read many of them.

Oh the definitions at the start of each chapter were also something different by the author and very entertaining. It gave a great insight to the story and characters.

The main character, Aeron was an interesting one to say the least. There was just something different about him that I wanted to keep reading to discover his secrets. And what a secret it was. Totally didn’t see any of the ending coming. That was a nice little surprise by the author.

And if Leo thinks the brutal Blood Honey and I have a few things in common, I guess that’s to be expected, given my rather unique preferences in the bedroom. My…condition.

But I’m not like him. I can’t stand that she would even think it.

If his actions threaten my relationship with Leo, I’ll hunt that fucker down myself.

If he gets too close for comfort, I will make him bleed—and trust me, he’s closer than I ever anticipated.

There’s a food chain, grasshoppers. The buck doesn’t stop with him. It stops with me. Blood Honey is a nasty son of a bitch, but I can be a lot worse. Question is…do I want to be?

I seriously don’t know why I even bother making these TBR lists. I never manage to read all the book on the list; not even half of them.

Maybe this time around I might read a few more. Ha I can see that happening. Since I only read 2 on my summer list, maybe I might get to read 3 and I’ll be one up on my total. I will be bring some forward from my summer list, just to see if I will read them this time around.
