Wow, oh wow! This was one roller coaster of a read and I enjoyed every minute of it and I didn’t want it to end. I was expecting something totally different for the story based on reading the blurb. More a long the lines of playboy wins over the girl just to get what he wants. What I got was so much more than that. And I’m glad for it. I love a surprise when I’m reading.

I found myself falling in love with the characters and the story so easily, that time just flew by and before I knew it I had finished the story. I should have known that there would be a cliffhanger but this one… Oh its really left me stumped as to where the author is going to go next.

Bring on the next volume like stat…

{Review} Cash Remington And The Missing Heiress (Sexy Dreadfuls #1)

Cashing Remington And The Missing Heiress by Celia Aaron

4 stars

I’m the best operator in the entire agency. The plum assignments—always mine. So when an American heiress goes missing, I’m the guy they call to get her back. Rescuing Collette Stanford is my mission. What I do to her after that is purely up to me, as long as she makes it back to the States in one piece. I’ll kill the bad guys, get the girl, and get a little taste of what the heiress has to offer. None of this is negotiable. I’m Cash Remington, and I never miss.

Content Warning: This standalone novella stars an alpha male who never misses. It’s full of sex and violence. It’s an erotic adventure, not a romance, and is not “safe.” If you’re cool with these caveats, enjoy!

Series Reading Order

#1 Cash Remington and the Missing Heiress
#2 Cash Remington and the Rum Run

Right from the get go this book is off to a flying straight; no lead up to the action. The first paragraph has Cash sky diving into enemy territory on his mission to save a missing heiress. And from there is never stops. Page after pages is filled with action. And let’s not forget the heat between the main characters. Yes, it’s pretty hot.

I did like the twist in the story from the author. I was waiting for something, but I wasn’t expecting that.

If you like romance stories with plenty of action in and out of the bedroom then I would recommend that you give this series a go.

Player by Sam Crescent and Jenika Snow

He’s an arrogant bastard, a manwhore, and a guy I’m forced to live with because my mother married his father. A part of me hates Derek because of the way he flaunts himself, because he doesn’t seem to care that he uses women like they are nothing more than a body to warm his bed for a few hours. But what I hate even more is the fact that I want him. The more he teases me, brushes up against me as we pass each other, and slips in dirty innuendos during our conversations, the more I want to slap him, and then give myself to him like so many other women have done.

I know Charlotte hates me, loathes me, and thinks I’m a player, but what she might not know is that those little touches I give her, those filthy little slips in the conversation that have her blushing and getting embarrassed, turn me on like a fiend. I never said I was a good guy, and that I didn’t sleep around back in the day, because I did. But I’ve never wanted anyone the way I want her. My past is tainted, but how surprised would she be if she found out I haven’t been with anyone in longer than I cared to admit? How shocked would Charlotte be if I admitted I’ve stayed away from other girls because I want her that badly?

I was really getting into this; and ya it is very predictable but the writing style keep me reading til the end. However the ending felt to rushed to me. There was a bit a build up between the main characters and the tension between them felt real and then once they had slept together everything was all hearts and flowers and they lived happily ever after.

Guess I was just looking for something a little more after they finally gave into their feelings.

I was fourteen, he was twenty-eight.
I was a failure and the black sheep in my family.
He was the Dutch billionaire every girl wanted to marry.
I wanted him to be mine, but he was dating my older sister.
And so I tried to forget.
I tried to stop loving him.
I tried, but it just kept hurting until I realized that nothing would work.
Nothing…except learning how to live without Willem de Konigh.

This is Book 1 of Willem and Serenity’s love story.

This is a great start to this series. I was drawn in instantly to the characters and the story line. Yes it is a little taboo, but that’s what made me want to read it even more. Plus I’m digging the cover; no half naked men for a change. Ya!

I really liked Serenity and she showed a lot of determination for someone so young and for what she has already been through. It would have taken taken a great amount of self courage to do what she did, and then have to rebuild her life again in a new place.

Willem, on the other hand was a mixed bag for me. Some spots he was a real gentleman and other times I just wanted to punch him for been so blind to the truth. Even his sisters could see what was happening.

The dual POV was another enjoyable aspect, even if it was a little hard to follow who’s was who’s sometimes. There are also a few time jumps in this story; while not hard to follow I did have to be weary about them. I didn’t like the authors’ overuse of the words ‘dutch billionaire’. I just started to get on my nerves a little.

Oh! But that ending! OMG! How could he just do that after all this time?! Book 2 here I come…

{Review} Cousins (Cousins #1)

Cousins by Lisa Lang Blakeney
Cousins #1
Read August 2015
4 Stars

Our passion is incredibly intense. The connection between us borders on the possessive. Our feelings are absolutely forbidden. We’re cousins…The question now is…what the f*ck are we going to do about it?

After Elizabeth Hill is brutally attacked in her apartment by an intruder and then unceremoniously dumped by her ex-boyfriend, she moves in with her wealthy aunt and uncle who assign her older cousin the task of keeping an eye out for her. All she remembers about her cousin Roman is that he was the moody mean boy who played a cruel trick on her when she was just six years old; but soon learns that he is now a complex and multi-layered man who has the ability to protect her, ignite her, and challenge her like no one ever has before.

Wealthy Roman Masterson makes his fortune by fixing celebrity problems for big money and by any means necessary. He is a foul-mouthed, bad-tempered, manwhore who doesn’t have the time or inclination to babysit a gullible little brat from the suburbs…until he unknowingly spots her in the middle of a crowded dance floor and decides right then and there to claim every one of her orgasms from that moment on. Little does he know that the woman he’s laid claim to is his…cousin.

Content Warning: Contains adult themes, explicit love scenes, and harsh language. It is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+.

Disclaimer: All characters in the book are 18+ years of age, non-blood related, and all sexual acts are consensual.

I’m beginning to hate when she calls me by my first name. I’m starting to see what when she says it, it isn’t a good sign. Masterson is the man she met a few weeks ago in the club…. Roman is the name of her fucking cousin.

Oh man I was really getting into this book and then the author had to go and through in that cliff hanger. Oh I should have seen it coming. I mean I knew when I started this book that there was going to be another one. But really stopping it there, that’s just cruel.

So yes this book is about two cousins that have an attraction to each other and decide to act on it. However they are not ‘blood’ related and the cousin thing didn’t really put me off that much. I have read way more taboo books than this one. If you want to start out reading some taboo books then maybe this is the one for you.

I actually liked Elizabeth and Roman together; they just seemed to click really nicely. Thou it was funny watching them think about each as strangers before they found out who the other really was. The dual POV worked really well for this story. I would have liked more from Roman, but otherwise I really enjoyed this book.

Can’t wait to get the next one now.

Reading this series is like returning to a group of old friends that you haven’t seen in a long time. After finished reading the previous book in the series, I couldn’t wait to read the next one.

Fletcher and Bayler’s story was really enjoyable. They were really well matched and were perfect for each other. Both are scared of commmiting to a relationship so they come up with their own rules to label their ‘relationship’. Just when everything seems to be going perfectly, they start to have ‘real’ feelings for each other and both are too scared to tell the other for fear of losing each other and what they have together.

Men are always going to look at women, but the only ones we truly see are the ones we love

While I felt some of the story was a little flat and was not really needed, it was still an enjoyable read and everything flowed smoothly.

Again this story is a flow on from the events in the first book in the series, so it was good to see all the characters from the first two book again. They had more to the story line and you get to see them develop more. While this story can be read as a standalone, it is more enjoyable to read the book in order.

Can’t wait for the next one in the series and to see how the rest of the group fall in love in the city.

The King Always Gets His Way.

Women, business, pleasure: When I want it, I get it.
I’m never denied.
Including her.
I will break her.
I will show her who the king of this city really is.
The Feisty Princess of Manhattan will learn I am not a man that can be tempted.
No matter how damn bad I want her in my bed.

#2 Feisty Princesses

Oh man! What can I say that will do this book justice. I just don’t have the words. Everything about this book is spot on. Nothing was out of place and I loved everything about it.

Alexandra, the naughty king, is one determined guy who goes after everything that he wants. Failure doesn’t seem to be an option for him.

However Margo, the feisty princess, is exactly the same. Nothing stands in her way and she is determined to stand up to Alexandra and not be the ‘doormats’ that he is use to dealing with.

When these two clash, man was there fireworks going off everywhere. I loved reading all of their exchanges. It was just so entertaining.

Plot, story line and secondary characters were also great. Can’t wait to see more from everyone and is waiting to find out were everything will go from here.

Oh and that ending. It’s going to kill me til I can get my hands on the next installment.

Sexy Australian billionaire Grant Devlin is ruining my life. He exercises shirtless in his office, is notorious for his lunchtime hook-ups, he even yawns sexily. If I didn’t need this job so bad, I’d take his black Amex and tell him where to swipe it.

He doesn’t even know I exist, but why would he? He jets off to Paris with supermodels, I spend Friday nights with Netflix and a chunk of Pepperidge Farm frozen cake—waiting for his call. Because every time he crashes his yacht, or blows $500k on a single roulette spin in Monte Carlo, I’m the PR girl who has to clean up his mess.

But this time, it’s going to take more than just a fat charity donation. This time, the whole company is on the line. He needs to show investors that he’s settling down, and Step #1 is pretending to date a nice, stable girl until people forget about what happened with the Playboy Bunnies backstage at the Oscars.

My plan is perfect, except for one thing:

He picks me.

The Billionaire Bargain was a good start to a new series and while I felt it was a little slow to start off and get going, it did pick up towards the end. Clearly the pace must of changed to my liking if I ended up finishing the story.

Both of the main characters, Grant and Lacey, were really great together. They sure did have their moments. Some of the exchanges and conversations sure left a smile on my face.

However some parts felt a little forced or were a bit predictable that I just wanted to skip over them all together. Could I do without reading them? Maybe, but I still read them anyway just in case I missed some small details for later in the story.

I will be checking out the next part. There is no way you can end of the story there and not find out what happens next.

{Review} ‘Til Death Vol 1 (‘Til Death #1)

Volume One Cover

Til Death Vol 1 by Bella Jewel
‘Til Death #1
Read January 2015
5 Stars

I finished reading this and had no words. There is just no way to describe the what I was feeling when I finished this book.

I so wanted to hate Marcus while reading this, yet at the same time I keep reading to see if he would become more human and loving, even just a little bit.

Katia, I felt so sorry for her. I was wondering how she could stay with a man like Marcus. But then love makes you do crazy things. The things that he does to her, the way she doubts herself, all for a man who may or may not love her. God it was so frustrating, in a good way.

Things were just starting to look good for Katia and Marcus and I was like ‘yes this could finally be changing’ and then bam ‘so did not see that coming’

Bella Jewel has written an incredible book that has kept me glued to the pages. Vol 2 cannot come soon enough for me
