“Who needs luck when you can get Lucky?”

About COWBOY KARMA

When Harmony Santos’s boyfriend dumps her on her birthday, she doesn’t get mad. She gets lucky…with a mysterious cowboy whose bedroom eyes and rough edges bring out her inner bad girl. But when their one-night rodeo turns into more than a rebound, Harmony worries her heart hasn’t healed enough to take on someone new—even if that someone is as sweet as he is sexy.

Tie-down roper Lucky Garcia can’t believe his good fortune. A shot at national finals and now this—his longtime crush, in his arms at last. The more time he spends with Harmony, the harder he falls for her. But financial demands and family responsibilities take him further and further away from her—as does his secret fear she hasn’t quite gotten over her dickhead ex.

Behind closed doors, Lucky and Harmony are filthy perfection. But when reality comes knocking, the star-crossed lovers must decide: walk away intact, or risk it all for a chance at happiness.

Excerpt:

They drove a short distance to a large, two-story house in an older part of town. Cars were parked up and down the street. The front of the house was lit up with floodlights. Lucky took her hand as they made their way up the concrete walkway.

“You look so beautiful tonight,” he said as they climbed the steps.

“Stop.”

“No. I won’t. Don’t you know how beautiful you are, Harmony? Hermosa. Preciosa.

She smiled shyly at him. “You’re not so bad yourself, cowboy.” A little dimple formed in her left cheek. He wanted to lick it. He wanted to taste her. No—he needed to taste her.

“Wait.” Right before she rang the doorbell, he leaned down and kissed those cherry red lips. He whispered, “You know, we don’t have to go in. We can just…get back in your car…drive back to your place…and have our own party.” He dropped tiny kisses along her jaw. Desire roared in his chest when her breath hitched in her throat. Her cheeks flushed pink. She paused, staring at him as though she were a heartbeat away from taking his suggestion.

Lucky held her gaze. “I’ve been thinking about you all week.” He brushed his fingertips back and forth across the cool, silken skin of her throat. “How about you? Have you been thinking about how good it was?” He lowered his lips to her ear. “Don’t you want to play together again?”

Her eyes fluttered closed. “Lucky,” she murmured.

“You do, don’t you, belleza?” He rested his thumb lightly in the hollow of her throat. “Tell me the truth. You’ve been thinking about me, haven’t you?”

The pulse in her neck tapped wildly against his fingers. “Yes, but—”

“Come on,” he whispered. “Let’s go.”

Synopsis

Mary-Jane wasn’t looking for drama. All she wanted was a family of her own, so she decided to make that happen. A mix-up at the sperm bank leaves her with a baby in her belly, but the father is none the wiser.

Ty was injured in a bull-riding accident, and now all he plans on doing is working on his ranch and keeping to himself. That is, until a little dark-haired woman shows up on his doorstep.

When their paths cross, will Mary-Jane be able to reveal to Ty that he’s the father? Will Ty be able to keep Mary-Jane from running? Will there be a lot of steam in this book? You betcha!

Review

One shy virgin and one angry cowboy makes for one very interesting story. Mary-Jane and Ty make for a very cute couple and I loved how possessive he was over her. When you find out why, it just makes you love him even more.

I love me some cowboys and nothing beats a Texan cowboy. Add in Alexa Riley’s style of writing and I’m hooked. I wish they would write more cowboy stories. I would gobble them up in to time. I hope they write more about this family. I really want to know if they all find their happily ever after.

Excerpt:

On the record player, the next track started. Guitar licks, drums, a little fiddle—Melody knew the song at once.

“Oh man,” said Clark. “‘Troubadour’. This a good one. Dance with me, Mel.”

He pulled her off the sofa before she could say anything. Wrapped up in the arms of a big cowboy was not a terrible place to be, so Melody danced with him, barefoot in her parents’ living room, the slow two-step a song both their bodies knew the words to. Her laughter died away, giving way to a quiet sense of vulnerability. The verses slid by like a dream, erasing the burden of loneliness she’d been carrying for so long. It had been months since she’d been this close to a man. It had been years since she’d felt this close to one.

Clark could read her mind. “So what was his name again?” he asked softly. “Scott?”

“Yeah.”

“What happened?”

“A slow-motion disaster, that’s what happened.” She rested her cheek against the hard, hot wall of Clark’s chest. “He was a musician. Fun. Exciting. He said I meant the world to him. But I suppose the world wasn’t enough.”

“What do you mean?”

It was still hard to say aloud. “He cheated on me. It had been going on for months. When I found out and confronted him about it, he broke down said he was sorry. We tried to put it past us. We even went to therapy. But it was all a lie. He left me when my mom passed away.” At first, the pain had been excruciating, dulled only by grief and the weight of her new responsibilities. “Eight years, down the drain.”

“That’s a long time. Did you ever talk about getting married?”

“He said he didn’t like labels.” She sighed. “Which was also a lie, because he married the other woman in Vegas in February.”

“Jesus Christ. I’m sorry.” Clark gave her a squeeze. “You know, if you were mine, I’d hold on to you for good.”

“Sure. Until the next piece of ass came along.”

“Never seen a piece of ass like yours.”

“That’s the friend talking. Your dick might say otherwise.”

“My dick, huh?” Clark laughed quietly. “You’re welcome to check with my dick yourself. He doesn’t talk loud, so you’ll have to get down on your knees to hear him.”

“Jackass.”

“Seriously, Mel. You don’t know what you’ve got going on. Smart as all get-out. Hell, you run circles around me, and I’m a genius. And you’re funny too. Ain’t many women who can make me laugh. You’re one of them.”

She rolled her eyes. “Aw shucks, Ma. Next the cowboy told me I was real purty.”

“Fuck pretty. You’re beautiful.”

It was too much. Danger. “Clark—”

“So beautiful. I always thought so.” He gave her a sad smile. “Honest to God.”

The heat rising between them cooked her brain. She was at a loss for words. “Thanks.”

“No thanks needed. Just stating the obvious.” They danced until the song ended on a ribbon of steel guitar. Clark leaned down and pressed his lips to her temple.

Melody gasped.

Instead of pulling away, he traced a slow, agonizing trail of kisses along her hairline until he was kissing her neck just behind her ear.

Pleasure overloaded her nervous system, but her brain wouldn’t let her enjoy it. “Wh-what are you doing?”

“Something I’ve wanted to do for a long, long time.”

Synopsis

When Clare Stevens walked onto the McCallister ranch, she expected her life to be a certain way. She was the mail-order bride of the owner, and she was to fulfill her duties. Clean the house, cook for his men, and warm his bed at night. What she didn’t expect was the beefy cowboy who walked in and literally swept her off her feet.

Cash McCallister didn’t have time to date and find a wife. So a mail-order bride seemed the easiest way to find a partner. He thought he’d made a mistake until he laid eyes on the little piece of sunshine that lit up his life. He never imagined a true love like this. He never knew an obsession could take hold so tightly.

When drama hits the farm and their fast love is threatened, can Clare and Cash hold it together?

Warning: This is literally as cliché as it sounds…and just as awesome. It’s country living with high-calorie foods and easy sunsets. Come sit on the porch and stay a while. You’ll like what you see.

Review

This story may be a little bit cheesy and and little bit over the top but that just made me love it even more.

Cash is one stubborn cowboy who is a bit down on luck in the love department and decides maybe a mail order bride is the easiest way to go. What he doesn’t expect is to end up with someone like Clare. What follows next is a instal-love story, cowboy style. Cash is one very manly cowboy and will do anything to keep this woman by his side and away from the eyes of other men.

Despite how they first got together, I felt that Cash and Clare were just made for each other.

A Taste Of Cash…

He reaches out, grabbing one of my curls. “The Johnsons aren’t home, you know. Went to a cattle show. Only one there is June. How long has he been gone over there with her?”

My body freezes at his words. He’s been gone for over an hour now. I turn to bat his hand away from my hair and tell him to leave, but before I can, he’s gone. A loud crash fills the porch as Billy is pulled away from me and he hits the house. Cash’s hand is around his throat, and Billy is starting to turn red.

Cash has him a good foot off the ground. I hadn’t noticed how short the other man was, but now that Cash is next to him, it really shows.

“You think you can come on my land and fucking touch my wife?” Cash’s face is so close to Billy’s I have to step to the side a little to see him. His face is turning purple now, and I don’t think Cash is really looking for an answer to his question. It’s clear the man won’t be able to talk with how tight Cash’s squeezing his throat.

“You don’t look at her, you don’t talk to her. In fact, you don’t even know she fucking exists.” Cash is so mad I can feel the anger pulsing off him in waves. He continues to choke Billy, and all I can do is stand there, shocked by how fast everything’s happened. I don’t even know where Cash came from. It was like he knew a man touched me, and poof, he just materialized. That actually would not shock me at this point.

“Fuck!” I hear someone yell, pulling my eyes from the scene in front of me. I see Earl and three other hands with him start to run towards the porch. They head for Cash and try to peel him off the other man. It takes all four of them to finally get Cash off Billy. When Cash lets go, Billy slides down, his ass hitting the porch. His hand goes to his throat as he coughs over and over again. I look back to Cash, who’s still being held back by the men as they try to calm him down, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

He keeps pulling to get free, wanting back at Billy.

“He fucking touched her.” He lunges again, this time breaking free of two of the hands, and I jump in front of him. He halts, almost running right into me, and I throw myself into his arms, wrapping myself around him. No way he’ll keep going at Billy if I’m locked around him. If we don’t stop him, I’m starting to think he might kill the man.

His hands go to my ass, catching me easily. I pull back and cup his face. “You marrying me today or you going to jail?” I ask him as I lean in, my lips just a breath from his, and I can see his face visibly relax.

“Marrying you.”

“Think we should practice that kissing part again?” I tease him, brushing my lips across his.

He takes my mouth. The kiss is hard and demanding, almost knocking the air right out of my lungs. I can feel everything he felt moments ago. All the adrenaline still pumping through his body, only now he’s using it on me. He pulls back sooner then I want, breaking the kiss.

“Get him off my land,” Cash says, not taking his eyes from mine as he starts to carry me towards the house.

“I’m calling the Sheriff. He’ll hear about this.”

“When you call him, can you tell him he still owes me a hundred dollars from our last poker night?” I hear Earl say as Cash kicks the door closed behind us and places me on my feet.

His eyes run over me, and I can see the rest of the tension leave his body.

“Goddamn, you look perfect.” His voice is gruff, but he takes a step back from me.

I take a step towards him, and he holds one hand up.

“Barely hanging on, sweetheart. I gotta get you to the courthouse, and if you touch me right now with how I’m feeling, I’ll snap and take you right on this floor.”

“There’s more than what just happened out there, isn’t there?” I ask, pointing to the door we just came through.

“Yeah. I was already fucking pissed before I saw Billy reach out and touch you. I went right over the edge after that.”

“What happened?”

“Nothing. Not a goddamn thing.”

I just stare at him. Cash runs a hand over his face, then pulls it through his dark hair.

“I went to the Johnsons’ and they weren’t there.”

“But June was.”

“But June was,” he confirms, making me uneasy. I don’t like that one bit.

“I sat and waited and waited some more while June ran her mouth. Baby, you know how I feel about that voice of hers.” He says it like he was tortured, making me roll my eyes.

“She offered me something to drink. I said no and that if her mom and dad weren’t back in the next five minutes, I was gone. That’s when she fucking lost it. Tried to throw herself at me. I dodged her, and she hit the floor. Hard. Then she started crying.” He studies me for a second, and I can tell there’s more and he doesn’t want to say it.

“What, Cash? Just say it.”

“I just stepped over her and left.”

“Okay.”

“Okay?” He mimics my response. “You’re not mad? I thought you’d be pissed I just left her there crying. Last time she started with those tears, you told me to be nice. I thought—”

“That’s what got you so mad?”

“Big fucking part.” He lets out a deep breath. “All I kept thinking was that if you had to listen to some man talk for thirty minutes about how you should marry him, I’d lose it. Then I came around that corner and there’s a man standing on my goddamn porch fucking touching you.” He yells the last part.

I just shake my head and walk over to him, placing my hands on his chest, smiling up at him.

“How can you be smiling? I still want to go back out there and beat the shit out of someone.”

“I’m smiling because you’re so jealous. You’re even jealous for me over you.” I start to laugh because saying it out loud makes it ever funnier.

He just shakes his head.

“We should go get married. I think that might help.” I’m not sure who he’s trying to convince, me or him.

“Sure it will,” I tease.

“Maybe if you were walking around here with a round little belly, that might help, too,” he adds.

“Can we focus on one thing at a time here? The wedding first,” I remind him.

“We get this wedding done and I’m going to be focusing on that real hard.”

“Promises, promises,” I tease.

He leans down and places a soft kiss on my lips.

“This is going to be the fastest wedding this town has ever seen.”

She wants to turn up the heat. He’s got the skills to whip her into a frenzy.

TV food show host Tabbart Tracy works hard to give viewers her best recipes. But while her fans are legion, her personal life is colder than a meat locker. Most men just want her to serve up some pie—in the nude.

One glance at her assistant’s sexy brother, though, and her body skips straight from low simmer to rolling boil. Especially when she tracks him down at a stud ranch. Where he’s the stud.

When a certain little TV foodie personally requests Stowe’s company for a week, he’s flattered as hell. She needs to give up some control, and as a sex therapist otherwise known as the “Dom from Down Under”, Stowe has the leather, rope, and paddles to do it.

Just as Tabbart melts into a puddle under Stowe’s hands, her worst fear chills her back to reality: someone recognizes her. Worse, her Master frowns on opening her checkbook to make it all go away. But trusting him means hanging onto their connection with both hands—while he takes her for the ride of her life.

Warning: This book contains a TV chef looking for some R&R (as in rough and raunchy) and a whip-wielding Aussie cowboy Dom intent on showing her she can take the heat. As hot as—and anywhere—she wants it.

EXCERPT

Then she saw it—a glimpse of black. A pickup truck with the door hanging open. She barely had time to conjure the words of the greeting she’d prepared when her door opened and a big male arm reached inside. Sprinkled with dark hair, a thick leather watch strapped around the wrist.

Her mind was wiped clean as she looked into a set of very dark eyes staring at her from under the black hat she’d come to know so well. The upward curl of his lip made her heart turn over painfully, then gallop out of control. She sat there like an idiot.

He gripped her hands and pulled her to her feet. She locked her knees to keep from falling over, then Stowe’s trim backside moved away from her. He opened the trunk of the car and hauled her luggage out.

When he spun and fixed her in his gaze again, she released the breath she’d been holding. Her pulse pounded in her ears. God, she was acting like a young girl with her first crush. She was a grown woman. She was…

At a sex ranch with the man of her fantasies.

Her pussy clenched.

“This all you got?” he drawled in that hot accent.

“Y-yes.” Stutter activated.

He grasped her forearm as he passed. The warmth and roughness of his hand on her bare arm scalded. Sweat broke out on her forehead. He opened the passenger door of the truck for her and guided her inside, then dumped her suitcase in the bed.

Her hand twitched to shove her glasses up and get a real look at him, but she couldn’t blow her cover. She watched as he swaggered back to the silver car, pulled his wallet from the back pocket of worn jeans—molded to his fine ass—and took out some bills. He handed them to the driver through the window. Then he tapped the car roof twice and the driver moved off in a new cloud of dust.

I’m alone with him.

In the middle of nowhere. He could do anything to her. Strip her, fuck her. God, she wanted both.

Review:

I really liked the first two books in the love bug series, but for some reason this book wasn’t just up there with them. It was still an enjoyable read and I wanted to read Lance’s story, but I was just left feeling a bit flat.

There was plenty of drama and a great chemistry between the two main character. If you have read the other books in the series you would have met them before. I was just expecting more from the lovable playboy and a strong head woman. I wanted more adventure along the way. There were a few things that happen in the story that kept me reading, but then it just floated for me til the next big event.

Maybe it need to be in the country like the first two books because everybody loves a cowboy.

Review:

I absolutely love Paul and Ellie’s story. They overcome ex-boyfriends, best friends, miss communication and timing to finally be together. After everything that they go through it was nice to see them end up together, happy in each others arms.

Sometimes I felt like yelling out them to make up their minds and let the other know how they really felt instead of just running away because it was the easy option. However true love is never really easy.

Paul is just the sweetest cowboy ever and Ellie is so sweet-hearted. They made one really cute couple.

It was good seeing how this story fit in with the events in the first book. I loved how it filled in some of the gaps and made me love Tom and Jordan more seeing through the eyes of the other characters. Most of is book overlaps with the first one, so some parts felt a little repetitive. But I still enjoyed it.

Review:

Honestly I struggled with this book at the start. I couldn’t get over the instant love theme. I know love at first sight can happen for some people. But after everything Jordan had been through, it seemed to much like rebound love than real love to me. However I stuck with it because I wanted to know what would happen to our leading couple. And things did turn out for the best.

Tom is one lovable cowboy and I just couldn’t get enough of him. He was so sweet and reminded me of a big cuddly teddy bear.

Oh the added suspense towards the end really helped move this story along since I was so tempted to DNF it. However the mystery of knowing what was going to happen and just wanting to know kept me glued til the very end.

EXCERPT

“Need a refill?”

Her eyes shot over to me. I smiled holding out another glass for her. She didn’t appear to be drunk by any means. Something told me that this girl could hold her liquor. Her hand reached out, taking the glass from my grip. When our fingers touched, I knew. I knew she couldn’t deny what was happening between us. There was something definitely happening between us; something that had never happened before … except for once. I turned my head and found my pregnant ex-girlfriend on the lap of my best friend a few tables down. My heart hurt, I could admit that. But seeing two people I truly loved being undeniably happy made it all worth it. I gave them hell and I wished I hadn’t, but things were right with the world now. I was happy enough for them.

“Would you like to sit?”

Yep. Things were right with the world now.

I sat down next to Katherine in a wooden folding chair. The distance was too great, so I adjusted my chair, becoming almost flush with hers. I draped my arm around her and rested it on the back of the chair. I stared out over the dance floor and could feel her eyes question my arm around her. She would just have to get used to it. I planned on touching a lot more than just her shoulder.

“So, what has you all mopey?” I asked as I continued to watch Jordan and Tom’s first dance.

“I’m not mopey,” she shot back, proving that she was in fact mopey.

“Says the girl who already downed a bottle of champagne before the first dance is over.” I glanced at her, and her eyes fell on me. In that moment, I knew why she was upset. I looked at Jordan and Tom dancing and then back at Katherine. I squeezed her into a half-ass hug and said, “Think of it this way, beautiful. You didn’t lose a friend. You gained me.”

She laughed while elbowing me in the stomach, and said, “I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.”

Katherine continued to laugh until she caught my eye. I leaned in close to her, slowly brushing my nose against her cheek until my lips reached her ear. The breath caught in her throat.

“I’ll prove to you how good it can be.”

Series Review:

4 stars

Loved all the books in this series. I did snuggle to get through the first one thou. But once a pushed myself through it, I never looked back. I’m so glad I didn’t DNF it. I would have missed out on meeting some really great characters then. Loved hearing all the characters stories and seeing how they overlapped with each others. Who doesn’t love a cowboy?

Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
